Damn, this rubbish makes me wanna go natural MORE. I can't believe the nonsense they're teachin kids these days about hair...I'm in my transition phase and its FABULOUS.
this comment is late but girlllllllll "the energy on FACEBOOK " is a mess I just told my mother that...the other day..I guess good response on how others like my hair but it's SOOOOO not positve as Youtube!! keep making the vids!!! Shaunte
After watching that episode is actually what motivated me to go natural. I was so upset with what the mothers were teaching their daughters and I decided from there to embrace my true self.
Thank you just thank you.
u have reached your goal of inspiration

This show was depressing, nauseating, embarassing and infuriating!! I was so ashamed of those black mothers who were passing on all those negative notions about our hair. At the same time, I realised that many of them are not enlightened to the beauty of afro hair, its versatility, its richness, texture and so on. Up until 4 months ago i was wearing extensions almost permanently because I didnt know how to care for my natural hair. But watching youtube /facebook I have had an epiphany!!!
Just found your channel I've been a "youtubee & Natural" for a year. Love your honesty and openess. We naturals are changing the negativity by looking "fly with Healthy Hair" when we rock our styles. I love your sister's videos. I would love to see a video of you three together you are all beautiful, and I'm talking bout inner beauty(the fact that you are all outwardly gorgeous is just a bonus.)
Thank you for the confidence you have given with my natural hair journey with your videos. I have been on my journey for 11 months and your videos have given me the inspiration to go on. Thank you. You are a beautiful person inside out. Love your hair tips, styles and ideas.
I cried over this particular show...
Cebryan333- the song is India Arie, I am not my hair
i used to get told that i should marry someone who is of another race because my hair is so thick. i didnt pay attention to it because i love combing it out into an afro just to see how thick it is. i now wear my hair in twist. ppl say relaxers are convenient, but this is the least ive ever had to do to my hair and i love it. all i do is wet it and leave. nothing else and when i take it down i don't comb it out i just wet it and keep going or twist it over. i love my thick hair!
Love it girl u and ur sister got me on my natural journey !!
what is the song at the begining of your video???
Just watched Tyra on youtube. I get irritated when people say that relaxed hair is easier 2 manage? How would u know if youve never learned how 2 manage it? Being "used" 2 doing permed/straight hair doesn't mean it's "easier" 2 do.
Ok...then, parents dont understand why their baby girls want straight hair but moms rockin permed/straight hair/weaves. Then telling baby girl that her natural hair is beautiful. Um...mixed message! In your actings u really sayin "I wouldn't like ur hair either"
This video is great! I just did the big chop and it has not been easy transitioning, so thank you for encouragng those in pursuit of healthy hair as God created us despite the status quo!
I've decided to grow out my perm. I've been thinking about it for a few months now. Thankfully, I have several friends who have either done the big chop or just transitioned. I told my mother and grandma and they were indifferent to my surprise! "It's your head," they said. I'm taking the long, difficult way: Growing the perm out! I don't even remember what my natural hair looks like. I am so excited to find out with time!
I really almost cried watching this video, it hurt my heart to see little girls that would one day become young ladies dislike or almost hate the hair the Lord blessed them with. God makes know mistakes this is the way he made us hair and all. We are fearfully and wonderfully made know buts about it!!!

Thanks for posting this video. I saw this on Tyra and it just broke my heart. So many little girls and women feel like this and it's such a shame. We have to teach our little girls to love ALL OF WHO THEY ARE.
Girl, loved the video, keep posting!
Wow, this is an awesome video. I am speechless right now.
wow..this video is deep! I'm just so saddened at the state of the black conscience....we must change our thinking if we ever expect to impact our world
I am so with you on this video sista!
You know what.. I went through the same thing when I was little... Girls didn't want to play with me cause they said " she think she cute"..and I was like what?? What does that mean?.. I was sadden by this.. I went home crying to my mom like" All I want to do is play".. We have to teach our little ones that having self confidence is not being" too cute".. This is what my mom taught me..and I wished their moms would have taught.. So we could have all played together.. nappy and all
I remember that show. It was so infuriating! But Tyra made a good point those women were emotionally victimized about their hair. The sad thing is they're doing the same to their kids. The black community needs to lead by example. Children learn what they live. If they grow up w/ knowledge of self they will grow up proud and dignified. Great video! Thank you for sharing.
I fully agree with this video. I been natural maybe 3 year... Keep posting Sister
