Oh man, do I remember those days! I HATED getting perms. The whole experience was a pain in the ass. I would always have scabs from the really burnt parts of my scalp. Now that I'm natural I can't believe I kept putting myself through that but hey that was all I knew at the time. I feel so liberated now that I don't deal with the creamy crack. I can go swimming whenever I want, get my hair wet in the shower everyday if I want, and skip through the rain LOL!
well you're not so shutdafucup

easier said than done. You have not been able to experience that which we have, throughout every minute of every day, and you never will know what if feels like.
A great video! im looking forward for more video from you. Will subscribbe for your channel! Btw guys, I found this cool site where you can watch lots of new movie such as avatar, new moon and lots more. the url is watch-online-movies(.)info removed the ()
Yep. That's why I use to do that ghetto pat, lol. Ya'll know what I'm talking about...where you just smack the shit out of the itchy part of your scalp, cuz you know you'll be getting a relaxer soon. hahah. I don't miss those days!
WASH IT OUT!!!
I've been that way many a day. I'm too glad to be natural now. People think it's more work, but I'll be damned if this ain't been the easiest times for my hair...with plenty of growth. I went from Rihanna's old pixie hair cut to shoulder length hair within 5 months. And I'm not natural to be 'afro-centric' but because it's healthier and way more flexible. I can straighten it then wash it, and it's back to it's curly/fro wonderfulness, lol. Just keep your hair healthy black women!
If I was a black woman, I would wear my hair in an afro and wear shirts that say things like "All People are Beautiful". I wouldn't waste money on creams and shit.
omg i just got my perm weds that shit felt so good 2 get in my hair now my hair is so much longer and healther when i scratch my hair i always have my hair dresser grease my scaulp it wont burn and when tha perms goes in it dont burn 1 bit i love gettin perms i get them every 6weeks i have that good hair..movie is really good
I had a very old lady for a teacher in Cosmetology school. We were doing a perm in class, when the client said it was burning, my instructor opened a can of carnation milk and with a cotton ball blotted the milk on the scalp. It worked and the client was amazed. That was 22 years ago and it still works in my salon. Stop making your clients suffer. Beauty should not be painful.
lol
my hairdresser told me that and it does help some. try to keep from scratching your scalp juss pat the itchy area lightly.
@alex16ed REALLY??
WASH IT OUT! hahahaha...
@oxSoNyAxo BECAUSE WE HATE TO BE OURSELVES AND EVERYBODY WANT TO BE SOMEONE ELES.
BTW they say before you get a perm try not to scratch u scalp as much because thats what makes it burn more..
OMG ICE T wasnt lying about trying to keep the relaxer in as long as possible to get my hair to be straighter and then i would be hauling butt to the sink hahah
Age old question..Why do we always want what we don't have??
lol. I've always hated my thick boofy wavy hair and get it thinned out all the time while most people with straight limp hair hate it and want volume.. go figure lol
Perms dont always burn! If u comb ur hair or pull ur hair back in a tight tail or just tooken your braids out,and then u put a perm in, your scalp is gonna burn from the perm, and u cant scratch ur scalp either. I remember those days... ouch! Im glad I decided to grow dreadlocks
hair is not hard to manage. there are very few products and combs made for black hair, so that makes it hard
sounds funny and interesting but id just like to put it out their that not all black girls have hair like that and put themselves through all that crap! i am first generation american from ethiopia and my hair is naturally mid-back length and curly and thick, but not nappy and super short! i will never EVER get a perm or a weave of any sort.
well the issue isn't necessarily how people want their hair. the issue is when we have little black girls growing up believing that their natural hair isn't an asset but a sort of flaw. when i was growing up i truly believed that i wouldn't be pretty if my hair was nappy. now i'm going back to natural for myself and so that other girls who are like i was can know that you can be beautiful with your natual texture.
they didnt put any on me D:
you put grease on your scalp before you put the perm so it wont burn
im hispanic i got a perm when i was 8...not worth it burns like theres no tomorrow D: and my hair was destroyed for many years
Wow. this hair thing is crazy. And as a chinese - any hair ambitions i ever had was an afro or dreadlocks. closest i came to was to have my hair braided - it fell out within 2 days.
