you dont have to make any other purchase on mac if you already have 6 items use up take it to your mac store and they will give you the opportunity to get a new lip gloss or any other items of make up but that depents on the store k

It's where you wait until you've finished a set amount of products (usually 10, sometimes 5, or however many you want) before you buy any more.
It comes from the phrase, "I've hit pan", which is what happens when you're really close to something being empty (usually a powder or eye shadow) because you can see the bottom of the pan that the product is in.
This is generally done by people who really have more makeup than they can use, to keep from adding to their "collection".
they pick 10 beauty makeup/beauty products that they have to use up before they can buy new makeup
It's not buying any makeup until you've "hit the pan" /used up 10 products

5 put a note on my blog that I am doing Project 10 -pan, too.
If you like that mascara brush use some brush cleaner and keep it. You can use it over and over, if you clean it in between.
